In French this means god’s gift. According to you what’s the biggest god’s gift?
It is life, life in the form of new babies. Children are considered as the personification of god himself. In many religion it is believed that children are god’s embodiment. Almost every society consider children as god’s gift.
Children are future of our world. Many grew up to be leaders of great nation. But still many children have no rights, they are abused, forced to work, gets no basic education. Their play hood is snatched or horrified by people. It is hard to believe that in this era of advanced technology and communication, where everything is visible , such issues like child abuse, child labor and lack of child education seize to exist.

Child labor is one of the biggest obstruction to human rights worldwide. Child labor is defined by the International Labor Organization as ”Work that deprives children of their childhood, their potential and their dignity, and that is harmful to physical and mental development. The current state of child labor might come to astonish you,
More than 200 million children today are child laborers and estimated 120 million are engaged in hazardous work, over 73 Million of the children are below 10 year old, the highest number of child labors is in the sub-Saharan Africa. The number of children in armed conflicts have risen to 3,00,000 over past decade. Most children work in farms, Over 200 billion child workers are employed in factories that makes garments, toys, matches and hand rolled cigarettes.
To avoid this , being aware as a consumer is important. This has caused the reduction in the number from 245 million to 200 million but it is not good enough.
Companies which employ child laborers need to stop and we have to force them to stop by not buying their products. It is quite hard to raise the Awareness among people regarding child labor, unless they see it for themselves. Don’t employ children below the age of 18 to do home chores.
One in every five children adolescent and youth is out of school that is 263 million children with no education. More children today are enrolled in pre-primary, primary and secondary education than ever before. Yet, many of the schooling does not lead to learning, this is because of lack of trained teachers, inadequate learning material, make shift classes and poor sanitation facility make learning difficult for children. Others come to school too hungry, sick or exhausted from the work or household task to benefit from the lesson.
Cause of lack of education are Marginalization and poverty- In developing countries student do not have access to basic education because of inequalities that originate due to sex, health and cultural identities. These children find themselves on the margin of education system and don’t benefit from learning that is vital to their intellectual and social development.
Financial deficits of developing countries- do not appropriate the financial resources necessary to create School, neither provides Schooling material, nor recruit or train teachers.
A good quality education help children reach their full potential. Basic education help school -age children develop vital skills to ensure their success both inside and outside school.
I was so horrified from these statistics that I was not able to hold my tears. Such horrors on small children, many with no food, no education, working in factories, farms. People who must protect them are abusing them. They have no rights to education just because of caste, religion and gender. I feel sorry not only for such unfortunate children but for the society where they are treated like this. We should all get together and at least try to remove these horrors from the society.
What do you think might help????
